Personal Purpose Prayer

I recite the following upon awakening and prior to retiring to bed each day:

My purpose in life is to love, grow food, teach and help others and to be with my soulmate. By being honest and loving myself I will promote sobriety, compassion, gratitude, humility, tolerance, patience, and forgiveness. These qualities will allow me to be healthier in mind, body, and spirit and will induce me to be fully present with a loving woman who also enjoys helping others, loves plants and gives back to Mother Earth. I will embrace my true self through communion with the Tao and community with mankind. In order to fulfill my purpose, I will exercise and meditate regularly to help maintain balance through life’s tribulations. I will write daily because my thoughts become clearer as they pass through my fingertips and I will reflect on these writings each day. I will listen to others and perform at least one selfless act to another living being each day. I will always do my best at everything I do. And I will constantly see counsel from those who mentor me along my path. Above all else, I will walk this talk.

I know I have the ability to achieve my definite purpose in life, therefore, I demand of myself persistent continuous action towards its attainment and I here and now promise to render such action. I realize that the dominating thoughts of my mind will eventually reproduce themselves from a mere thought into physical reality, therefore, I will spend 30 minutes daily thinking of the person I intend to become thereby creating a clear picture of that person. I know any thought I hold in my mind will become real. Most importantly, I will be mindful of the Tao and listen to the omens as they guided me along my path. This is a sworn testimony to myself. I will achieve my purpose!
